The Senior Producer Learning and Participation will lead on the development and coordination of programmes which engage with children, young people and communities underrepresented in arts and culture as workforce, audience, makers, participants, and artists. Managing a team of producers to deliver high quality participatory programs.
The SP will establish and develop relationships, networks, and partnerships with local community organisations and education establishments and the wider arts participation sector to develop and deliver high quality programs that enable access, engagement, inspiration, that expands and strengthens the impact of the Barbicans work.
The SP will take a co creation approach and will work collaboratively with artform departments to develop cross-organisational awareness and understanding of the Barbican's civic purpose, embedding access in all areas of work across the centre. With a primary focus on the City of London and surrounding boroughs Camden, Islington, Tower Hamlets, and Hackney the SP will deliver participatory focused events and activities across the CC department teams and with artform departments. The SP will also contribute to audience and talent development strategies.
The SP will lead the work to deliver equitable approaches to engagement and consultation with local people. They will advise and support teams and departments across the organisation to develop best practice consultation processes to engage communities in decision-making at the Barbican.
The post holder will lead the management and planning of participatory projects and will collaborate with departments across the Barbican in the development of programming ideas and event coordination, ensuring all activity is aligned with the CC Department's strategy, purpose, and goals.
