Role overview

In this role you will be managing the creation of productions from conception to delivery at all levels. Managing and coordinating the production activities for all allocated jobs running through the department. Responsible for scheduling, finance, and time tracking from start to finish, and mentoring junior member of the team, whilst upholding multiple stakeholder relations.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Initiates/maintains communications and interactions with client services and creative teams from conception of a project
  • Production Partner review, selection, and negotiation
  • Review concepts and script development and add value on approach
  • Works closely with Creative and Ops to track progress and time on jobs and research emerging trends and technologies
  • Directs and organizes pre/post production and production activities from start to finish such as casting, location scouting, on set shooting, insurance, crewing, music, offline and online edits etc., delivery and playouts, and or manage external parties involved in production activities
  • Prepares full risk assessments, PIBS and call sheet, shoot approvals ready for shooting
  • Keeps up to date with the creative and edits scripts for continuity and clearance
  • Continually keeping up to date with new and up and coming directors and production houses, sharing knowledge and reels with the creative department
  • Always looking to bolster the black book with new and upcoming partners on a global scale
  • Reviews and manages all edits from start to finish
  • Arranges for timely delivery of materials to agency and clients
  • Responsible for budget management throughout, and full reconciliation upon job completion
  • Responsible for time tracking of projects for billing purposes and reconciliation of invoices
  • Able to work with the broader team across the McCann network to make the most of their expertise in specialist areas.
  • Keep up to date with the latest production techniques and understand how to apply them with client work
  • Leads pitch ballparks and quoting requests
  • Processes art buying requests and is knowledge in all licensing rules and regs including artist music requests
  • Lead and mentor junior members of the team and do training with the wider agency
  • Be a driving force in sustainability and inclusion within production
  • Networking events attendance and supplier relationship building
  • Presentations for department and induction to new starters on what the production department does
  • Be the ‘rock’ for the BL team throughout productions
  • Be a senior rep for the department when the HOP is away
  • Support the HOP in duties for the department
  • Ensure data protection (GDPR) is upheld for all client and agency data/information

Personal Skills & Experience

  • Full experience in integrated productions – TV, Motion, social, CGi, animation etc
  • Global, end-to-end shoot experience and 360 campaigns
  • Variety of clients and industries under your belt
  • Able to scope, create and execute on project plans and schedules
  • Strong knowledge of various project types, including web, mobile, video, brand, and strategic consulting
  • Create and successfully manage budgets, with experience with budgets upward of £800K
  • The ability to manage specialist supplier relationships and costs, define scope of jobs, deliver against a budget, negotiate prices and estimate production costs and to be accountable for all production cost management.
  • Work well in a collaborative fast-paced team environment
  • Possess strong organisational skills
  • Able to negotiate client and vendor fees, writing estimates and purchase orders
  • Self-motivated and able to pay meticulous attention to detail
  • Experience overseeing and coordinating all levels of production globally
  • A good eye for design, creative and art buying
  • Deep understanding of project management, workflow and infrastructure
  • Knowledgeable in copyright and business affairs
  • Leader and spokesperson for production now and in the future
  • Courage to challenge and innovate
  • Team leadership skills and team management experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills at all levels
  • Outstanding organisational and time management skills
