Now Education are working with a fantastic Specialist school in the area that are seeking Learning Support Assistants to work with pupils on a 1-1 basis.
The school is a setting for pupils with SEMH needs and they need LSA's with experience catering for challenging behaviours within a PRU/Alternative provision/Children's Care setting due to the specific needs of these young individuals.
The School has been recently refurbished and extended with dedicated learning zones and teaching spaces, including Sports hall, Science Lab, Art room, Music and ICT room, Food Technology and Design Technology rooms.
Duties:
- To work with teachers as part of a professional team to organise and support learning activities for SEMH pupils, within and outside of the classroom
- To deliver specified work under the direction and supervision of a qualified teacher on a 1:1 basis
- To plan, organise and undertake other related duties to support pupils who have experienced trauma
- To evaluate specialist learning and therapeutic activities with the teacher and provide feedback
- Build positive relationships and manage pupils’ behaviour effectively within a school environment
- Be proactive, resourceful and energetic.
- Communicate effectively with students, colleagues and parents / carers.
Applicant Requirements:
- Teaching Assistant OR relevant background in supporting children
- Experience catering for children with ASD, SEMH, SEBD needs
- Available full time
