Our client is a two form entry primary academy located in the centre of Blackpool (FY1) with accessible local public transport routes and public parking options. They are on the lookout for a confident TA to support a Non-Verbal, English as an Additional Language pupil within the nursery setting. This role is requires someone with prior Early years, SEN or care experience,who has the ability to build and develop a productive relationship with a pupil, providing support with their attainment, personal, social and emotional development
Given this is an early years based role, this is a play based learning role, which supports continuous provision, developing motor and social skills etc. This is an opportunity for a TA who is able to keep supporting small milestones that may lead to great achievements over time. Someone who is animated, intuitive and able to incorporate the child's likes and interests into their learning. You will need to be reliable and able to provide consistency for the child to support their behaviour and routine.
This role is term time only, Tuesday - Thursday 8:45 -11:45, with an immediate start until 28th March 2024, on a temporary contract. The starting rate for this role is £12+ depending on experience.
Responsibilities
- Preparation of resources and activities for 1:1 support.
- Collaborate with the class manager and team to organise appropriate activities.
- Incorporate the child's likes and interests into activities.
- Liaise with other professionals such as Teacher's, TA, specialist support staff.
- Work closely with other LSAs and support staff.
- Monitor and track the development of the pupil In question and support personal development.
- Ensure the safety of your assigned pupil.
- Handover to the parent or carer at the end of the day.
Essential requirements
- Experience of working with young people.
- Experience of EHCP or IEP's.
- Be comfortable and confident in managing challenging behaviours.
- Ability to engage with, and build rapport with young people.
- Be creative, proactive and flexible in their supporting style.
- Have experience with SEN or knowledge learning difficulties.
- TA qualified.
- English as Additional Language (EAL) Experience
