The Perinatal Mental Health Service is seeking a highly motivated Mental Health Nurse for the exciting new position of Community Perinatal Mental Health Nurse for Dumfries and Galloway.

The post holder would work within the Perinatal and Infant Mental Health Service, working alongside the Senior Perinatal Mental Health Nurse providing delivery of person-centred care across the Community Mental Health Teams within Dumfries and Galloway, for women within the perinatal period who are experiencing difficulties with Mental Health.

This is a relatively new service and as such offers exciting development and learning opportunities for the post holder. The team is a small multi-disciplinary team comprising of a Senior Perinatal Mental Health Nurse, Consultant Clinical Perinatal Psychologist, Specialist Perinatal Occupational Therapist, Maternity and Neonatal Clinical Psychologist, Administration Support Worker, Infant Mental Health Clinical Psychologist and Infant Mental Health Psychology Assistant. The team is expanding and as such is welcoming new team members, who can be assured a warm welcome into the team with excellent induction and support.

The Perinatal Mental Health Service is a Monday to Friday 9-5pm community service. Our base is at Mountainhall Treatment Centre in Dumfries and will involve clinic and home visits in remote and rural areas. A current driving licence is an essential requirement of this post. However, if you have a disability which precludes you from holding a driving licence, consideration will be given if alternative transport can be arranged.
