Do you have excellent museum experience and want to support museum staff and volunteers across Hampshire?

As Museum Development Officer, you’ll be part of Museum Development South West, the Arts Council England funded support programme for museums in our region. Providing advice that helps museums thrive, coordinating projects and networks to address local priorities, and signposting to resources and guidance available – those are all key elements of this dynamic, people-centred and flexible role.

A bit about you

You’ll enjoy working with people, and using your first-hand experience working in the museum sector, provide tailored, effective and balanced advice that is practical as well as representing current best practice.

You’ll use your strong communication skills to network effectively, as well as being able to master prioritisation. Committed to continuous learning and development, you’ll stay ahead of the game about guidance, case-studies, policies and support opportunities

But don’t worry if you don’t if you don’t meet all of our essential and desirable criteria. If you bring first-hand experience of working in the UK museum sector, we would love to hear from you. We are happy to explore flexible working arrangements where we can, please let us know of any preferences.

We are committed to promoting equity, inclusion and diversity and a culture that actively values difference. We recognise that people from different backgrounds and experiences can enhance the way we perform and work. We aim to be inclusive, valuing, and respectful of diversity, developing the ability to recruit and retain a diverse workforce that reflects the communities we serve and seeks to engage.
