Occupational Health Staff Counsellors – Occupational Health & Safety Services (Band 6)
One part time post 22.5 hrs per week. Hospital locations: based at Astley Ainslie, Western General & St Johns. Applicants may be asked to work at different hospital sites.
Provide confidential counselling to employees of NHS Lothian and Health and Social Care Partners and also to employees of commercial clients of Lothian Occupational Health & Safety Services.
Provide confidential counselling in accordance with NHS protocols, the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions and (COSCA ) Counselling & Psychotherapy in Scotland Statement of Ethics and Code of Practice. Band 6 applicants must be BACP Accredited Counsellors or equivalent (COSCA) with a minimum of 2 years post accreditation experience of workplace or EAP counselling.
Experience of time limited counselling is essential. The post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership or record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required adult regulatory group then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory.
At this time, counselling appointments are being offered by face to face, telephone and video. Successful candidates are expected to work in NHS premises.
