The vision for the Pharmacy & Medicines service is to deliver clinically led, person-centred services to ensure patients across Lothian get the best from their medicines and pharmacy services. We are focussed on creating an environment where each person in the team has the opportunity to flourish, develop and make best use of their skills.
We are looking for a Specialist Clinical Pharmacist to support the provision of pharmaceutical services to our Neonatal, Fertility, Obstetrics, and Gynaecology patients within the Simpsons Centre for Reproductive Health at the RIE. This role would suit a pharmacist looking to develop their clinical skills for a wide variety of patients and work collaboratively within a proactive and inclusive multidisciplinary team.
RIE is one of the tertiary neonatal centres in Scotland and provides care for babies from 22 weeks gestation. These babies have continuously evolving clinical needs and benefit greatly from specialist pharmacist advice.
You would be working closely with a friendly and enthusiastic team to develop the delivery of pharmacy services and to ensure efficient use of resources including monitoring drug expenditure. There are also opportunities to contribute to the strategic development of guidelines, protocols and PGDs within the services. As RIE is a large teaching hospital, you would be encouraged to undertake teaching and clinical supervision of pharmacy staff/students and other healthcare employees. Depending on your previous experience, further study would be encouraged and supported.
Candidates must have a Master of Pharmacy Degree or equivalent, must be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC), and should have completed or have equivalent competence as mapped to the Post Registration Foundation Pharmacist Framework available at:
