2nd Line Support Engineer

Salary: Up to GBP35,000 + Benefits
We are seeking a qualified, experienced IT professional to provide 2nd Line Support within our highly academic school. Operating on a continually evolving heterogeneous network infrastructure we require the post holder to be responsive to new developments and enhance existing ones.

Excellent interpersonal skills are required as well as the ability to work flexibly and creatively within your team delivering a high level of support service to both our curriculum and admin users to support the continued development and maintenance of academic and non-academic computer network systems.
This role is based at our Senior School, in the heart of historic St Albans, with requirement to provide onsite support to our Prep School in Wheathampstead 3 - 5 days a week. The role is offered on a full-time, permanent basis, 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year. Some out of hours and weekend work will be required.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Essential:
- HND or equivalent IT related qualifications.
- Relevant training and at least 3 years' work experience using and Supporting IT services.
- 2"?? Line Support for various hardware, eg PC, laptops, Servers.
- Microsoft Desktop Operating systems; eg Windows 10/11.
- Windows Server Technologies.
- Deploying and Patching Software packages.
- Supporting a Microsoft 365 environment (inc Sharepoint, Team, OneDrive).
- Apple iOS and MDM.
- LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi.
- HP Switches and LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi technologies.
- Knowledge of ITIL Framework.
- Proven experience of gathering and analysing relevant information.
Desirable:
- Professional or technical/vocational qualification, eg Microsoft Certification.
- Working in Education sector.
- ITIL Foundation.
- Cloud Services.
- VMWare vSphere and VMView Horizon.
- Internet/Intranet.
- Azure.
- Relevant network and WIFI management application and tools,
- eg Burconix, and Internet filtering systems, eg Smoothwall.
