An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced 3rd Line Service Desk Engineer to join my client's vibrant Service Desk Team. The 3rd Line Service Desk Engineer will have fantastic opportunities to grow, develop, and progress into their dream career, with full support from the Company.

3rd Line Service Desk Engineer Salary up to £40k Office Based

The Business

The Business is a locally founded company, operating on a national scale. They pride themselves on providing research-led IT services to clients, from outsourcing Corporate IT with their managed services, to complementary Cyber Security services.

The Mission

Following a period of strong growth, the Company is expanding and looking to bring in an additional 3rd Line Service Desk Engineer, to work collaboratively with the existing Service Desk Team Lead.

The Role

The 3rd Line Service Desk Engineer will be the final point of escalation and act as a source of technical expertise. The Engineer will be focused on technical resolution of tickets, building technical processes and procedures, and work across both on-premise and cloud technologies.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing guidance to Service Desk staff on ticket resolution.
  • Formalising and adding process and procedure to BAU Service Desk functionality.
  • Ensuring technical processes and procedures are adhered to in ticket resolution.
  • Escalation for 2nd line Technical Engineers.
  • Resolving 3rd Line Tickets.
  • Performing Service Desk duties when required.
  • Contributing to a technical knowledge base.
  • Providing feedback to the Project and Service Operations Manager on all technical aspects of Service Desk.
  • Providing support to implementations team when required

The candidate should have technical familiarity in most of these areas:

  • MS Windows Server: Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy & Certificate Services.
  • Storage: FileServers, Shares, NTFS Permissions.
  • Citrix: Virtual Desktop and Apps, XenApp/Desktop, Netscaler.
  • MS SQL Server: DB Troubleshooting, Backup and Restore.
  • VMWare: ESX 6.7 Hosts, iSCSI Storage connectivity, Virtual Machines.
  • MS Office365 Admin: Exchange Admin, AAD, SharePoint Admin
  • Backup and Restore: Veeam, Zerto, Volume Shadow Copies
