CAHSS / School of Health in Social Science
Open ended, full time (35 hours per week)
We are looking for a Research Support Officer to join the School of Health in Social Science to provide expert advice and guidance on all aspects of research funding support and related School processes.
The Opportunity:
The postholder will facilitate internal and external research funding applications, will work to increase the School’s participation in the full range of funding opportunities to the point of successful award and set-up and will oversee post award administration processes from the start of the award through to reporting and conclusion.
This post is full-time (35 hours per week). We are open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on-campus working with an expectation that the role holder will be on campus a minimum of two days per week.
Your skills and attributes for success:
Previous experience of supporting and developing research grant applications from pre award to post award stage
High degree of numeracy and awareness of financial/budget modelling
A commitment to accuracy and high attention to detail
Ability to quickly master new systems and processes and a commitment to engage in development and process improvement
Highly developed time-management skills, with an experience of dealing with conflicting demands and prioritising workload in a fast-paced environment
