Grade UE05: £25,742 to £29,605 per annum (A revised salary range for this grade of £27,979 to £32,332 is planned to take effect from Spring 2024).
College of Arts Humanities and Social Sciences / The School of Philosophy, Psychology and Language Sciences / Teaching Office.
Open Ended - Permanent.
Full Time - 35 Hours Per Week.
The School of Philosophy, Psychology and Language Sciences is seeking to recruit a full time, open-ended Senior Teaching Administrator.
The Opportunity:
Reporting to the Undergraduate Teaching Coordinator, you will assist in the management and effective operation of the School’s Teaching Office and co-ordinate administrative support across the schools three subject areas.
Post holders will be members of a team providing an effective service in all aspects of Undergraduate (UG) and Postgraduate Taught (PGT) programmes and associated courses, and must have excellent computing and interpersonal skills.
They will form part of a wider Teaching Office team, and will also work collaboratively with others in the Student Services function, contributing to the overall support provided to students across their time with the School.
This role will also involve some day-to-day supervision of the teams Teaching Administrators, but no line management responsibility.
The School of Philosophy, Psychology and Language Sciences provides an exciting work environment through its three subject areas that have a diverse and dynamic research and teaching portfolio.
The role shall be based within Dugald Stewart Building (Central Campus), and on campus work is required. Discussions on future hybrid working arrangements maybe possible when full training in the role is completed.
Your skills and attributes for success:
Vocational qualifications (N/SVQ 3, ONC or equivalent) plus typically 2 years’ work experience in a relevant role; or School education to standard grade or equivalent plus typically 3 years’ relevant work experience (Desirable).
High-level customer service standards and student focussed approach, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, aligned with a friendly, professional and helpful manner.
Good time management skills, with the proven ability to prioritise and organise workload effectively to ensure required deadlines are met.
Resilience and enthusiasm to sustain a high level of performance when working to deadlines, whilst maintaining excellent attention to detail.
Experience of both working/responding independently and as part of a team. Resourceful, with the ability to use initiative and a proactive approach to seeking out information.
Previous experience working in the higher education sector, or an understanding of the standards and regulations set for on-programme teaching and assessment administration and how it is carried out (e.g. Taught Assessment Regulations) would be highly desirable.
