Overall Purpose:
As an Internal Account Manager you will be responsible for driving portfolio spend and GP from existing customers, as well as their retention, in partnership with a Business Development Manager (BDM), the Sales Manager and the wider marketing and sales team. The majority of your required activities are desk-based, and their purpose is to ensure your accounts hit their targets as well as handling administration tasks for your Business Development Manager to maximise growth opportunities. It will be important that all relationships are kept strong and you work to overcome any threats from competition who may attempt to gain access to our clients.

Roles & Responsibilities:
- Filling in customer questionnaires when required, in partnership with Customer Service.
- Forecast the spend of customers across the month, quarter and year, and monitor customers’ progress against this. Telephone or arrange meetings to investigate and resolve any downtrading or other concerns.
- Handle administration required to grow or nurture customers and prospects, such as arranging samples and researching the customer or prospect.
- Raising quotes for customers on the system
- Filling in Sales forecasting reports, as well as other data analysis.
- Developing an understanding of the product range, how customers use it and how best to sell it
- Taking ownership for the spend, GP, share of wallet and relationships with customer.
- Proactively contact customers according to a touchpoint schedule to keep relationships strong, profit high and check for growth opportunities.
- Moving growth opportunities through the pipeline.
- Following up relentlessly and fast to customers.
- Communicating well with your colleagues so the team works efficiently.

- Oversee growth & retention projects with customers, developing and seeing-through a strategy over weeks/months. Sometimes, larger projects to group customers can involve over 40 customer stakeholders.
- Handle enquiries above a certain value, obtaining costs from procurement where required, and then following through to an order.
- Assisting with building quality presentations as part of the business development or account growth process
- Attend 1-1s with Sales Director to maintain accountability to targets and objectives.
- Manage customers’ pricing in line with company price list, passing through increases where required and resolving objections.
- Assist Customer Services in resolving queries for your accounts.
- Work with multiple stakeholders to win deals
- Tackle existing areas of growth, that have been difficult to achieve
- Handle price queries or negotiations with customers.
