As the Asset Valuation Oversight Accountant, you'll support the team to define, implement and execute the primary Valuation Oversight framework for a significant book of illiquid asset investments. Job Type: 12 month Fixed Term Contract
Location: Edinburgh or Wythall office location (Hybrid, Flexible).

Salary: Upto £55k depending on experience, depending on experience plus 16% bonus up to 32%, private medical cover, 38 days annual leave, excellent pension

The role
This is an excellent opportunity to join our investments team in finance who have responsibility for executing robust Valuation Oversight controls over the group's invested assets. You will be joining a dynamic team that continues to evolve and develop our Valuation Oversight capabilities to support the strategic growth in illiquid asset capabilities and mandates. In this role you will also have the opportunity to work closely with various internal and external stakeholders and support change within the team.
You'll develop your career and build your profile at Phoenix within our Valuation Oversight function. This will involve playing a key role in the robust review and challenge of both liquid and illiquid asset valuations from external asset managers. You'll have responsibility for preparation of MI and delivering results to senior management through asset valuation governance. In addition to gaining varied and challenging Valuation Oversight expertise you'll have the opportunity to support the team with high profile change activity.
What are we looking for?
You'll love this role if you're a great communicator with strong analytical skills to review and challenge investment valuations.
We're looking for a qualified accountant or applicants possessing a recognised investments qualification with valuation experience of hard to price/illiquid assets and other investments e.g. derivatives. You will have a strong controls mindset and sound understanding of different investment valuation techniques and best practices. Given the ongoing growth in the business we are continuously evolving and developing our oversight processes.
