We are looking to hire an Client Accountant to join our clients Accountancy team.
As a Client Accountant you will have responsibility for your own portfolio of clients of up to 165 clients.
You will be the main point of contact for your client base throughout their customer journey and will be expected to build a good rapport by gaining an understanding of their business.
You will provide email, telephone, and face-to-face support, responding to all requests as swiftly and efficiently as possible. You will be required to adapt your working practices to suit each client’s individual needs as well as coaching junior colleagues to develop their understanding.
Responsibilities Include for the client accountant
• Preparation/reconciliation/explanation of annual accounts, closure accounts and Corporation Tax computations to approval stage ; under FRS 102 and 105
• Creating, maintaining and proactively managing client files;
• Comfortable with VAT, CT, PAYE, CIS, SATR
• Comfortable with digital portals such as Free Agent, Xero, Quickbooks and Dext etc
• Ensuring your clients meet all their filing deadlines, providing reminders to clients where necessary;
• Communicating with HMRC on behalf of clients;
• Delivers work that displays a good knowledge of technical and professional standards;
• Meets the high quality standards on technical work produced.
• Work efficiently with an understanding of how own role contributes to the success of the business;
• Growing the business through referrals (networking via events and LinkedIn)
• Keep up to date and follow any relevant legislation and/ or policies and procedures inline with Bribery, Anti-money Laundering and FSCA requirements
• Adhere to SLAs as required
Qualifications / Requirements
• Part/Fully Qualified Accountant (AAT / ACA / ACCA)
• Background in accountancy
• Experience of preparing Year-End Accounts and Tax Computations
• Experience of working with Owner-Managed businesses
• Good working knowledge of Xero and possibly other online / cloud accounting software
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Accuracy & attention to detail
• Good time management and organisation skills
• Ability to build strong working relationships both internally and externally
• Ability to meet targets undertime constraints
• Detailed knowledge of HMRC guidelines
• Deliver excellent service to internal and external clients
