About this role
We have a new opportunity for a Manager in our UK Finance Risk Management team.
This role has a broad remit and would suit someone with a risk background specialising in financial risk.
You will partner with colleagues across the UK and US businesses to champion excellent risk management for the UK Finance team and drive engagement with team members and senior leadership. You’ll ensure UK Finance risk and compliance activities are completed to a high standard, with a focus on payments & treasury as our critical business process.
The ability to influence senior leaders using effective communication will be imperative to success in this role as well as the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and priorities.
What you’ll do
Own and lead the UK Finance risk management governance forums in order to support senior management in understanding key risks, issues and projects
Drive UK Finance leadership discussions on risk related topics including emerging risks identification and risk accept decisions
Connect with risk teams across the UK and US businesses to understand best practice and to ensure all relevant policies and procedures are adhered too
Work alongside UK Finance process owners and performers to understand the risks, recommend control improvements, and support their ongoing management
Coordinate UK Finance responsibilities under relevant regulatory requirements, including SM&CR, and regulatory exams
Identify and lead on events and issues, and manage reporting to process owners and senior management
Operate as the team lead to ensure delivery of all risk and compliance activities required by the team
Advise on the implementation of new projects as they arise with a view to support well-governed change management across the department
Support plan managers in updating and developing Business Continuity plans
Support UK Finance teams in responding to control testing requirements to enable completion to a high standard and within acceptable timeframes
Be point of contact and lead on a range of BAU activities required as part of the UK and US businesses
What we’re looking for
Extensive experience in a risk-focussed role within the financial services industry
A passion and appetite for best practice and great risk management
Curiosity to enable you to ask questions and understand the how and why
Excellent communication skills and enjoy working collaboratively
Strong experience of influencing senior stakeholders
Ability to work autonomously
Great organisational skills
We’d also love it if you had
An accounting qualification or be working towards one
Basic Project Management experience
Prior audit experience
Where and how you'll work
This is a permanent position and can be based in either our Nottingham or London offices.
Our hybrid working model offers you the flexibility to work from our offices and from home, when you need to.
We're big on collaboration and connection, and so generally encourage our associates to use our offices on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
The number of days you spend in the office will usually be led by the type of work you’re doing, and the hybrid working patterns of the people you partner most closely with.
