I am currently recruiting for an Accounting Manager to join a very well established, successful and growing business in Cheshire (commutable from Chester, Nantwich, Wrexham, Whitchurch and Crewe). With a history going back 50 years, this company has recently been acquired by a larger group providing security and impressive year on year growth, whilst enjoying a real family-feel with a close-knit and predominantly local workforce of c. 200. In this newly created role, you will support the Finance Director and Commercial Finance Manager with the day to day running of the accounts function and management responsibility for two Accounts Assistants.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Ownership of month-end closing process to ensure timely reporting to group
- Payment and accounting for VAT, Corporation Tax, PAYE and Payroll Deduction Orders
- Payment of Irish Payroll
- VAT returns for UK and Ireland
- TSS declarations for Northern Ireland
- Ownership of Plastic packaging tax account
- Supplier documentation - deposits and payments
- Fixed asset accounting.
- Continuous improvement
Qualifications & Experience:
- Experience of managing team members.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to deliver to strict deadlines.
- Excellent Finance knowledge and capability to apply in a commercial environment.
- Interest in seeking new ways of working and ideas to improve the business.
