Description
- Processing invoices and verifying transaction information
- Preparing payments by accruing expenses and assigning account numbers when needed
- Resolving account discrepancies by investigating documentation
- Providing financial status information by collecting, analysing, and summarising account data
- Maintaining accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions
- Maintaining historical records by filing documents electronically and physically
- Disbursing petty cash by verifying documentation and recording entry
- Contributing to the team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
Profile
A successful 'Accounts Payable Assistant' should have:
- A degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (not essential)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
- An ability to analyse information and use logic to address work-related issues and problems
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Excellent organisational skills
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written
