We have a current opportunity for a Accounts Payable Team Manager - 12 month FTC on a permanent basis. The position will be based in Warrington (HYBRID) .

The role: Accounts Payable Team Manager:

• The purpose of this role is to lead the Accounts Payable function both in UK and EMEA by supporting the people and workload within your team. This will require working to service levels with other areas of the business. In addition, the role will require some strategic supplier management to provide a seamless service to these high-profile Vendors/Clients
• You will oversee the management of vendor queries and look for improvements across all tasks.
• You will have direct reports across the AP function responsible for tasks including Invoice logging, issue resolution and statement reconciliations. This will be managed effectively and within a specific timeframe to continue to support the business in the smooth servicing of Client base.
• The role will also involve working with the team to support their coaching and training requirements.
• Using Data insight to prioritise the workload will play a major part in the role, where the priorities must lie across the team, working to deadlines and providing a seamless customer experience.
• Strong relationships with stakeholders across the business forms a critical part of the role.
• Work to KPI's and provide operational reviews and metrics accordingly.

Key responsibilities:

• Ensuring the ledgers are operated accurately, efficiently, and timely to ensure payment on time.
• Lead the team using Data insight and build this to match the requirements.
• To ensure smooth operation of weekly payment runs and the accuracy checks are in place to assure the correct payments are made.
• To be proactive and take initiatives to review and make improvements in processes and procedures to support BAU, reconciliations, and all other tasks within AP.
• Support Audit actions and requests
• To support month end processes, to ensure all ledgers are maintained and balanced on time.

• Investigating and resolving supplier invoice issues through the escalation process and proactively work with them to prevent the issues from reoccurring.

• Providing support to Teams in AP through knowledge transfer and best practice.

Person Specification - Knowledge & Experience

• Extensive experience of supporting an Accounts Payable team in a large organisation
• Financial background
• Experience of working in Shared Service centre would be preferable.
• Ability to plan, organise and prioritise workload
• Ability to work as part of a team and independently to deliver a common objective and work across team boundaries to build and strengthen working relationships.
