Are you looking for a new challenge in 2024?  If so, we have a new and exciting opportunity for an experienced Accounts Payable professional to join the Mencap finance operations team on a full time permanent basis. This is an exciting time to join Mencap as our finance operations function embarks on a continuous improvement journey to explore and embed improved ways of working.

The role will be contractually based in Peterborough with some presence required in the office on a flexible basis and  occasional travel to our office in London and other venues for training events and meetings.

Our new Accounts Payable Team Manager will:

• Develop the Accounts Payable team, providing coaching and training to ensure the team functions as effectively as possible whilst providing great customer service
• Lead by example, role modelling the behaviours expected within the team
• Ensure oversight of all transactional processing and manage multiple conflicting priorities
• Develop and maintain excellent relationships with leads in other finance teams to ensure that Accounts Payable are meeting service level requirements
• Ensure all transactional processing is completed by the team to agreed deadlines, ensuring that there is data integrity across multiple systems
• Develop and maintain processes, ensuring they are followed consistently by the team
• Support the development and reporting of transactional KPIs & SLA’s
• Support month and year end processes by providing any reporting requirements
• Provide coaching and support to operational teams in respect of transactional activities
• Support internal and external audits
• Act as central point of expertise for Mencap and escalation point for all Accounts Payable matters, including regular reviews with system providers, bank, concur expenses and Kefron (OCR provider)
• Conduct regular 121’s with staff members using the My Mencap Review tools and processes, whilst providing clear communications through regular team meetings
