The Accounts Receivable Specialist will be based at Murphy's Finance Shared Service Centre (SSC) for the UK and Ireland which is in Wigan and has become a central building block of the organisation.The SSC will provides the platform for cost savings and ongoing performance improvement, including focussed continuous improvement in Finance and related Business processes. The SSC is at the heart of everythinng and its busy and fast paced and offers scope and potential for career progression and development.

 

What you will be doing:

  • Responsible for credit management, cash collection, cash application, account reconciliation and resolution of client/customer specific queries as appropriate

  • Accurate raising of sales invoices by contract, ensuring VAT treatment is accounted for

  • Accurate cash allocation and credit note processing to customer account

  • Ensure compliance to local statutory regulations and adherence to all Accounts Receivable policies

  • Collection of outstanding debt

  • Dispute management and query resolution

  • Ensuring monthly statements are sent, liasing with all necessary stakeholders (internal and external) to ensure customer accounts are fully reconciled

  • Ensure reporting of and reconcilitations are completed in an accurate and timely manner as per Group Timetable

  • Responsible for Intercompany Clearing in line with group timetables

 

What we are looking for:

  • Experience in an Accounts Payable and/or Accounts Receivable role, preferably in a Shared Services environment
  • Working knowledge of the Construction Industry Scheme is highly desireable  (CIS)
  • Excellent client and customer service skills
  • Working knowledge of MS Office products
  • Must have strong experience in Finance, and be comfortable with the use of systems
  • You will need to be a good communicator with the ability to present and explain financial information to all levels of management with a high standard of written presentational skills
