Job description

Job Introduction

Everyone’s Turning Point is unique. It’s the moment when they realise, they’ve made a small, but important, step forward. Very often, that small step is the start of something bigger. But only when the right support, advice and services are in place. That’s where you come in.

Alfred Minto House is a well-established specialist residential service that works with ten men with mental health difficulties and forensic histories. We aim to support individuals to continue their journey of recovery in a community setting.

Role Responsibility

Join our friendly team who raise the bar for person–centred support. We provide a range of recovery focused support through key working sessions, activities, one to one sessions and group work. Empowering people to make positive life choices and decisions, your person centred, compassionate, non-judgemental approach will guide individuals on their recovery journey.

As an Activity Coordinator you will be responsible for the development, planning and facilitating of the Comprehensive Alfred Monto House Activity Program, ensuring activities are meaningful, engaging and skills based. Our activity programme encompasses all aspects of the 5 ways to wellbeing. You will engage with the people who we support to ensure that all activities are tailored to individual’s needs and interests. You will work within a given budget and monitor engagement and outcomes, reporting monthly to the Management team. You will liaise with external professionals and be required to attend multi-disciplinary meetings as necessary.

The Ideal Candidate

You’ll need previous relevant experience of using a person-centred approach in a mental health setting and a good understanding of the complex needs of individuals we support. You will be passionate, Innovative, and dynamic with an ability to motivate and Inspire others. You must be capable of prioritising your own workload and using your initiative. Experience of working with individuals who have forensic histories would be an advantage, yet not essential provided you have had experience in a mental health setting. An effective team player, you will possess good communication skills, a flexible recovery focussed approach, a positive attitude and be able to adapt in a changeable environment.
