About the role
We have an exciting opportunity to lead and manage the Finance Actuarial Services team within the Finance Division of NFU Mutual. You will manage a team of four which has a direct impact on our customers’ experience with NFU Mutual. You’ll lead a team that ensures our customer values and illustrations are correct, which may be produced on IT systems or an ad-hoc basis. This role is very much customer focused and delivering on our commitment to our customers as you’ll liaise with external stakeholders and colleagues across the business.
About you
You’re a mathematical professional with some experience in financial services and an understanding of processes and systems. It would be an advantage to have some experience of Actuarial work and an understanding of Actuarial techniques. You’ll ideally have experience in life insurance, pensions and investments. A friendly team player with a focus on the customer, you’ll readily face challenges head-on and hold excellent leadership skills. You’ll have previous or are eager to gain management experience and are passionate about developing team members. You will have sound communication skills (written and verbal) and be able to build relationships in other departments to deliver change. You will be very confident in IT packages such as Excel, be able to manage workloads and take responsibility for ensuring SLA are met.
To join our team, you’ll also have:
- Holds a minimum of one A level (or equivalent), including Maths at grade C or above.
- Experience of working in a Financial Services, Insurance or Pensions Environment.
- Detailed knowledge of both traditional and unitised life office products including With-Profits, calculations of values or projections experience is desirable.
- Demonstrable experience of using software, such as spreadsheets, and/or coding, and problem solving to deliver technical work and solutions.
- Experience of leading technical work and/or a technical team involving financial or calculation type work.
