AD/ADAS Project Engineer Cranfield £30.78p/h We are recruiting an AD/ADAS Project Engineer for one of our automotive clients based in Cranfield. You will be working for a globally recognised automotive company. This is a long-term contract role. The contract is on an ongoing basis a may run for several years. Key Responsibilities of the AD/ADAS Project Engineer: Develop class leading Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) for European markets. Working as a part of the European Chassis Team, this role is to be part of the new team in Europe who are the front line in adaption and research of ADAS in Europe. The team are responsible for the delivery of these systems into the European market and plants and will form the basis of a European design team for the Autonomous Drive Technology in the future. You will be supporting validation of vehicle and parts, first aid of trouble, vehicle project management, cost reduction activity, market quality investigation and official report of ADAS. Provide front line design management and technical support to global colleagues to investigate development or manufacturing concerns related to ADAS and Active Safety technologies. • Acting as a window for information flow between manufacturing and design/test for ADAS issues. • Status reporting to management at all levels. • Contribute to departmental skill and knowledge regarding ADAS system. • Reporting of ADAS concerns into project reviews and senior management. • Cross functional working with plant quality and engineering teams to ensure early response to concerns, and smooth adoption of hardware and/or software change. • Some management of suppliers and hosting of guest engineers • ADAS systems management will include the co-ordination of several related components (sensors) in addition to the primary ADAS controller. • Validating the logic and functional operation of ADAS systems on the vehicles against client specifications. • Root cause investigation of complex electrical concerns on vehicles under the guidance of the component test engineer • Provide technical support to the production plant, including support for line trial activities and setup of radar & camera calibration facilities. • Coordinate component hardware and/or software retrofit, occasionally on a scale that re-quires managing a team. • Ensuring the rework pedigree of test fleet vehicles before start test programs. • Cost reduction investigations Qualifications & Experience for the AD/ADAS Project Engineer: • Engineering degree, or equivalent • Knowledge of active safety system control / electrical architecture / ECU hardware and soft-ware is a plus. • Competent with PC applications MS Office etc • Good problem-solving skills with knowledge of Design Review, FTA and FMEA activities. • Post graduate experience in an engineering environment. • Be able to risk assess software modifications and develop appropriate test plans • Hold a full and clean UK driving license (minimum of 3 years is desirable) Hours & Pay for the AD/ADAS Project Engineer: • Monday to Friday • 39 hours per week • £30.78p/h LMIND
