Are you looking for your next managerial role in administration? My client, one of the key education trusts in Cornwall, is seeking an ambitious Administration Manager to manage and supervise the day-to-day work of the administrative functions including the school office, examinations, admissions and attendance in Falmouth. The main purpose of the role is to contribute towards the planning, development and organisation of the administration systems, procedures and policies and supervise, support, train and develop administrative staff as appropriate.

This is a term time only position and the successful post-holder will benefit from the majority of the school holidays although there will be a requirement to work an additional 10 days during the academic year (around exam results in August). The role is paying £17,884 - £22,520 per annum doe (actual salary) and salary is paid for 45.6 weeks per year. A full job description is available on request.

Key Duties Include

  • Lead and empower your team to provide excellent administrative support to the school

  • Ensure the accuracy and confidentiality of information held within the School Office, including SIMS, ParentPay etc.

  • Provide advice and guidance to staff on administrative issues being a role model to your team.

  • Undertake school reception duties as part of the administration team and cover for administration colleagues as appropriate. Answer the telephone and disseminate messages as appropriate, leading by example.

  • Deal with parent / carer and other external stakeholder queries.

  • Have oversight of all administrative functions and ensure confidentiality of all records.

Key Skills

  • Experience of providing administrative support to staff at a senior level.

  • Experience of running effective administrative systems.

  • Experience of editing and proof-reading.

  • Attainment of GCSEs or equivalent (educated to level 2 standard) to include Maths and English.

  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to maintain a realistic balance among multiple priorities.

  • Excellent time management.

  • Confident in the use of Microsoft and Google packages.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, accurate spelling and grammar.

  • Ability to consult with colleagues in an effective and positive way.

Your main attributes will be your personality, practical and organisational abilities, and strong communication skills. The successful candidate will be required to undertake an Enhanced DBS check and online searches will be carried out for shortlisted candidates.
