Role Responsibility

Adolescent Early Help Unit

Children’s Social Care and Early Help are rated Outstanding by Ofsted. Do you want to be part of the exciting developments within the Adolescent Service in Kent?

An excellent opportunity has arisen within the Integrated Adolescent Service for an Adolescent Early Help Worker in East Kent, who has experience of working with young people and their families.

You will need an understanding of the dynamics of adolescence and the impact of trauma upon development and behaviour.  The post holder will assess and respond to a young person’s needs, vulnerabilities and experiences of extra familial risk, by delivering direct work and working with a multi agency partnership.

Work will include a strong focus upon supporting family relationships and improving communication to ensure young people remain with their family.

Part of the role will include assessing risk of offending, harm and working to increase safety for the young person, in order to avoid entering the criminal justice system.

As a service we strive to increase resilience in young people and their families to ensure positive outcomes and decrease risk of harm.

This post requires ability to form and maintain positive relationships with adolescents and their support networks, alongside excellent organisation skills, effective communication, and the ability to use case management systems.  The role will require managing a case load and the ability to travel across south Kent.

The successful candidate will meet the requirements within the Job description and demonstrate this in both application and interview. (See attached  job description for full details of requirements)

Salaries are in the range £26,515 - £28,850 and there are opportunities to progress to Senior Early Help Worker roles with salaries of up to £37,188, in addition to a competitive benefits package.

This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
