Speedy Fuels in Rainham is currently seeking a skilled and professional Fuel Tanker Driver to join our team. As a Fuel Tanker Driver, your main responsibility will be to safely and efficiently transport petroleum products to various locations.
Salary: £42,000, increasing to £45,000 after 6 months.
Shift: 5 am to 4 pm, days, 11 hours per day. Flexibility is required to accommodate business needs. One in three Saturday shifts are required, paid at a time and a half rate in addition to your contracted hours.
Contact: Full-time permanent position with 25 days plus bank holidays of annual leave per year.
Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate a fuel tanker to transport petroleum products to designated locations
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the tanker vehicle, ensuring that it is in good working condition
- Comply with all relevant safety policies, procedures, and regulations, including ADR and health and safety guidelines
- Maintain accurate records of daily activities, including trip logs, delivery receipts, and fuel receipts
- Ensure the proper loading and unloading of the tanker vehicle, following all necessary procedures
- Monitor the fuel level in the tanker and arrange for refuelling as necessary
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, and other team members to ensure timely and accurate deliveries
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while also maintaining a professional and courteous demeanour with other road users
- Conduct periodic inspections of the tanker vehicle to identify any maintenance or repair needs and report them to the appropriate personnel
Requirements
- Valid HGV Class 2 license and Driver CPC
- ADR training and certification
- Experience in driving fuel tankers is essential.
- Clean UK driving record with no major violations or accidents
- Strong knowledge of ADR and other relevant safety regulations
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Physically fit and able to handle the physical demands of the job, including lifting and climbing
- Ability to work independently and make decisions in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility in working hours, including overtime and working one in every three Saturdays, is required.
