If you are ambitious, brave, and compassionate then there has never been a better time to come and join our team at the Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust as an Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) on the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit.
The post will provide an exciting opportunity for colleagues holding a NMC RN qualification or a HCPC registered qualification, who are seeking to further their career development within the dynamic, and fast-paced Critical Care service at the Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust.
The ACP will work at an Advanced Clinical level on the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (ICU) assessing, diagnosing and treating the critically ill patient who requires level 1-3 support, as well as performing daily reviews of patients on the ICU/HDU. The ACP will also be working alongside the multidisciplinary team (MDT) - led by the ICU Consultant.
The ACP will have a full Masters in Advancing Practice.
We are looking for a self-motivated, adaptable and knowledgeable Advanced Cardiac Critical Care Practitioner who possess excellent communication skills, strong decision-making abilities and clinical expertise, together with a drive and passion for improving the way healthcare is delivered.

Undertake an extensive assessment of the critically ill patient, including taking a history and completing a clinical examination.
Perform or order diagnostic and therapeutic procedures/investigations.
Recognise which medications are required in a range of physiological abnormalities within the critical care sphere, and to be able to seek and justify their prescription appropriately.
Prescribe and administer a range of medication working within your boundaries of clinical knowledge.
To review medication for therapeutic effectiveness, appropriate to patient needs in accordance with evidence-based practice, national guidance and protocols in order to optimise patient treatment.
Initiate and manage clinical treatment plans.
Perform invasive procedures, advanced airway skills, vascular access and other practical skills within the level of clinical competence.
To work competently in the role as an Advanced Critical Care Practitioner, being aware of boundaries of the role, referring patients appropriately to other healthcare professionals as required.
Teach and educate members of the multi-professional team.
