Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioner- Stroke Team

The post holder will Work in conjunction within team lead, service manager and consultants to provide an effective and comprehensive physiotherapy service across acute stroke ward and clinics.Act as a resource to medical staff and other professionals locally and regionally providing expert clinical opinion, advice regarding service referrals, provision and prioritisation.As an autonomous expert practitioner take a leading role in the management of a complex clinical caseload, providing expert assessment, diagnosis and treatment of patients using advanced knowledge and clinical reasoning for patients at ward level and clinic as required.Work with senior clinicians, develop and maintain a clearly defined clinical lead role for the physiotherapy within the acute stroke ward and clinics and across services as required.Work alongside Team lead to provide an effective and efficient service to include day to day management; supervision; coordination and delegation of referrals to team members ensuring allocation of caseload commensurate to grade, Deputise for team lead in absence.To coordinate development, implementation and maintenance of high clinical standards within the specialist physiotherapy team and to work in association with other members of the physiotherapy and MDT teams to promote models of best practice.Be responsible for maintaining provision of a quality specialised service and work with team lead, managers, consultants and other clinicians to develop this in line with organisational requirements and evidenced based practice.The remit of this post will be subject to review in line with service change and in response to continued service development, the post holder will be required to undertake flexible working to include extended working, seven day working and oncall duties as determined by operational requirements.
