The AP post being recruited to reflects the responsibilities of the Consultant Social Worker for a Frontline unit of student Social Workers. You will need to be a qualified, experienced Social Worker, registered with Social Work England and with a passion for supporting the learning and development of those entering the social work profession. Merton has partnered with Frontline and is continuing this successful partnership into the 2024-2025 academic year to grow our future Social Workers and workforce. If the structure of the Student Social Work Academy team changes, the post holder's duties and responsibilities would be those described within the Advanced Practitioner job description and person specification.
What is Frontline?
Frontline is England’s largest social work charity which aims to develop excellent social work practice, leadership and innovation. In partnership with Merton, Frontline recruits a new, diverse generation of Social Workers and provides a three-year social work training programme for graduates and career changers.
What is a FL Consultant Social Worker?
The Consultant Social Worker (CSW/AP) role is pivotal to the participants' first year on the programme. Each CSW/AP is responsible for four or five participants who are undertaking their Postgraduate Diploma in Social Work. CSW/APs work with participants using a practice hub model approach using a systemic practice model for working with families. Work with children and families is managed through weekly hub meetings which provide a dynamic learning environment and a reflective space to think systemically about the work and intervention with families.
This role offers the opportunity to remain in practice while developing and embedding your own supervisory and management responsibility for a small team. For more information about the exact responsibilities of a CSW/AP, please see the job pack.
