Job description


An exciting opportunity has arisen at the Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust for an enthusiastic, dynamic Highly Specialist Physiotherapist to join our Physiotherapy & Occupational Therapy Directorate across, the Local Maternity & Neonatal System (LMNS).
The Perinatal Pelvic Health Service (PPHS) Advanced Physiotherapist Practitioner will work with the PPHS Specialist Midwife and the Heads of Services. The role has been designed to support the transformation of maternity and physiotherapy care via the Perinatal Pelvic Health Project, to implement key elements of pelvic health innovation, care and transformation of services within the maternity setting across Black Country LMNS (Local Maternity & Neonatal Service). This will be delivered through a system wide approach across the Black Country LMNS delivered through innovative projects, servicere-design, education and training for staff and setting up peer support and mentoring.
The post holder will work with Black Country LMNS, Black Country ICS (Integrated Care System) and professional colleagues within other acute organisations and local community services to understand the current services provided by maternity physiotherapy, the transformation agenda and the additional workforce training needs to progress the service transformation, with a view to identifying and recommending improvements to education and training across the workforce.
The post holder will lead the service and work with the PPHS Specialist Midwife to undertake planning, co-ordinating, delivering and evaluating the service provided to patients with pelvic health conditions on a day-to-day basis, and work closely with and support other physiotherapy teams working with pelvic health conditions throughout the Trust / LMNS ensuring effective cross boundary working which may include travelling to sites for the delivery of care within the Black Country ICS.
Advanced Practitioners are clinical physiotherapy/occupational therapy specialists with an extended scope of practice, who see patients referred for assessment, clinical diagnosis and management.
To be the clinical lead for the Perinatal Pelvic Health Service.
