Hours of work: 7.5 hours per week (Daily 8:00 - 8:45 and 15:15 - 17:00)
Working pattern: Part-time, Term-time only (working for 39 weeks per year plus 5.65 weeks annual leave, which will increase after 5 years' continuous service)

We are looking for an After School Club Assistant to join the Cross in Hand team.
Cross in Hand is a happy and successful Church of England Primary School in Heathfield, East Sussex. We have genuinely lovely children, supportive parents and a great team of staff.
We are looking for a creative, efficient and enthusiastic assistant to deliver activities for children between the ages of 4 and 11 in our thriving Breakfast and After School Club.
The working pattern is 8:00 - 8:45am and 15:15 - 17:15pm Mondays to Fridays term time only. We are happy for this role to be filled on a job-share basis.
The role entails welcoming and registering the children, implementing activities and games inside and outside, supporting children to prepare toast and drinks, and maintaining the resources and the organisation of the club room.
Duties and responsibilities:
- To prepare and deliver a range of play based activities on a daily basis,
- To work closely with the other wraparoundcare assistants.
- Be aware of current school behaviour and safeguarding polices and ensure their implementation,
- Communicate effectively with pupils, colleagues and parents.
- Be familiar with First Aid procedures,
- To keep the environment safe, organised and pleasant for children to play in,
- Organise a ‘light tea’, keep the catering facilities clean and help to maintain stock levels.
Person Specification –
The Wraparound Care Assistant will require the following characteristics:
- A nurturing, calm and organised manner,
- The experience of working with children and an understanding of play and child development
- The ability to provide warm and consistent care to all children,
- An ability to demonstrate a range of practical play skills,
- Experience of working as part of a team,
- Understanding of health and safety issues that affect the day to day running of the club.
