FTE Salary: £24,293.

Actual Salary: based on 39-week (44.7 paid weeks) term time only 16.25 hrs a week and is £9,171

Our popular and busy After School Club provides flexible After School childcare for pupils of Banister Primary School. Children enjoying attending and we are always looking at ways to make our club even better.

As Club Leader you will join our friendly and supportive team delivering engaging and fun wrap around childcare. The successful candidate will be a good team player, confident in dealing with pupils and parents and able to think creatively and pro-actively. We are looking for a friendly, caring person who enjoys working with children, to work in our successful After School Club (‘Milky Way’) between Monday and Friday during term time.

You will use your time effectively, utilising your team so that we plan for, and deliver a flexible provision that engages children and provides a home-from-home environment. A place where children can develop their social skills, get their homework done, have a healthy snack and find space to relax if they want to.

Duties include:

  • Leading the team in planning engaging activities, conversation and play
  • Organising the purchase of food and equipment
  • Preparing and serving food for children’s snacks
  • Meeting and greeting parents and providing them with feedback on their child’s time at the club
  • Attending training where applicable, including First Aid
  • Responsibility for health & safety within the club, this may include light cleaning, risk assessment supporting pupils with medical conditions

The successful candidate will:

  • Have experience of working with children
  • Have a good understanding of safeguarding
  • Be organised and able to adapt if plans change
  • Be a team player - Demonstrating energy, enthusiasm and patience
  • Have a friendly and engaging manner
  • Have strong communication and people skills to relate to and support pupils and parents
