Gateway Central Services are looking for staff to join our team to provide the Before and/or After School Club at Oakfield Academy

Start Date: Anticipated April 2024

Anticipated Working Hours: 07:15 - 09:00 and/or 15:15 - 18:00. (22.5 hours per week)

Positions available: Club Leader(s) & Club Manager

We are eager to welcome individuals to our dynamic team who will play a pivotal role in the launch and success of our new club. Ideal candidates should be available for both morning and afternoon sessions, but we remain flexible to discuss other arrangements to meet the school's needs.

Roles involve preparing and serving breakfasts, organising activities, and engaging with children in a fun and educational manner, all while maintaining a strong collaboration with parents and the school community. The Manager will have additional duties such as overseeing policy implementation, managing occupancy and staff schedules, and ensuring service quality.

Key Responsibilities - Club Leader:

  • Prepare and serve nutritious breakfasts and evening snacks to children.
  • Develop and implement a diverse timetable of activities that cater to various interests, both indoors and outdoors.
  • Engage with children in a range of play and educational activities, fostering a safe and fun learning environment.
  • Build a collaborative partnership with parents and the school community, maintaining open and positive communication.
  • Assist in setting up and clearing away before and after sessions, ensuring a clean and organised space.
  • Monitor the safety and well-being of children at all times, adhering to safeguarding policies.

Key Responsibilities - Club Manager:

  • Carry out all Club Leader responsibilities.
  • Coordinate communication between the club and the school, meeting regularly with the school.
  • Act as the central point of contact for parents outside of school hours.
  • Uphold, implement, and regularly review all club policies and procedures.
  • Manage staff including their rotas, and ensure an adequate staff-to-child ratio.
  • Monitor and evaluate the quality of service provided, implementing improvements as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Experience in childcare or education is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A positive, energetic, and resilient demeanour.
  • A commitment to the development and education of children.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative.
  • Flexibility to meet the needs of the children and program.
  • Enhanced DBS check.

Prospective candidates should be calm, reliable, organised, and possess excellent communication skills. They should also be team players, enthusiastic, creative, and passionate about developing engaging play activities for primary-aged children.
