Do you have 2-3 years' airfreight experience? Do you have experience handling imports, exports and dangerous goods?
I am on the hunt for an experienced Airfreight Operations Clerk to join a reputable client of mine, who are international dangerous goods specialists. This is an office-based position in Hounslow, close to Heathrow Airport and the successful candidate will be working from 8am-6pm, Monday to Friday with a 1-hour lunch break. The Airfreight Operations Clerk will report into the Operations Manager and will be joining a small but friendly (and hard-working) team of dangerous goods air freight specialists.
Main duties:
- Managing agents and customers directly.
- Liaising with customers for every aspect of their shipment.
- Finding solutions (mostly by air and road, and occasionally sea) for highly regulated shipments.
- Making export airline bookings.
- Tracking shipments and providing customer with updates.
- Customer invoicing and creditor invoice processing in a timely manner.
- Assisting with documentation and other tasks from time to time.
- National travel to meet with customers on occasion.
Key requirements:
- Knowledge of Airfreight Operations with a Freight Forwarder.
- Import/export experience.
- DG and ADR accreditation or knowledge would be an advantage.
- UK driving license is essential and must be comfortable with occasional travel to meet with customers.
- Experience using Sequoia or other internal freight systems.
- Strong organisation and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and being able to work independently as well as working within a team environment.
Salay and package:
- Salary of £28,000 - £30,000 per annum
- Potential to earn commission through various methods
