Airfreight Operations Clerk

Do you have 2-3 years' airfreight experience? Do you have experience handling imports, exports and dangerous goods?

I am on the hunt for an experienced Airfreight Operations Clerk to join a reputable client of mine, who are international dangerous goods specialists. This is an office-based position in Hounslow, close to Heathrow Airport and the successful candidate will be working from 8am-6pm, Monday to Friday with a 1-hour lunch break. The Airfreight Operations Clerk will report into the Operations Manager and will be joining a small but friendly (and hard-working) team of dangerous goods air freight specialists. 

Main duties: 

• Managing agents and customers directly.
• Liaising with customers for every aspect of their shipment.
• Finding solutions (mostly by air and road, and occasionally sea) for highly regulated shipments.
• Making export airline bookings.
• Tracking shipments and providing customer with updates.
• Customer invoicing and creditor invoice processing in a timely manner.
• Assisting with documentation and other tasks from time to time.
• National travel to meet with customers on occasion.

Key requirements: 

• Knowledge of Airfreight Operations with a Freight Forwarder.
• Import/export experience.
• DG and ADR accreditation or knowledge would be an advantage.
• UK driving license is essential and must be comfortable with occasional travel to meet with customers.
• Experience using Sequoia or other internal freight systems.
• Strong organisation and communication skills.
• Attention to detail and being able to work independently as well as working within a team environment.

Salay and package: 

• Salary of £28,000 - £30,000 per annum 
• Potential to earn commission through various methods
