About our Organisation
The Soil Association, formed in 1946, is the only UK charity which works across the spectrum of human health, the environment and animal welfare. That’s because we cannot tackle these issues in isolation.
We campaign for change, we support farming innovation, we serve healthy food in communities, we support and grow the organic market, and we protect forests. We couldn't do any of this without our supporters, partners, donors and dedicated staff. We make a difference in the world where it’s needed the most.
About the Opportunity
This is an incredibly exciting opportunity to help to grow, develop and amplify the voices of a group of Ambassadors working across the food system, from school cooks and caterers to community food leaders, to farmers and producers. With this Ambassador programme we are looking to discover people with an authentic voice, working in food or farming, having the skills to tell their stories to new audiences.
About You
We are looking for a dynamic individual who is able to build excellent working relationships across our teams, understand organisational priorities, and identify opportunities to support authentic voices to be part of our policy, campaigning and programmatic work. You will work with teams across the Soil Association to identify potential ambassadors, and develop a package of support and training to enable a more diverse range of people to talk authentically about their work delivering a transformed food system. This will include training in conducting media interviews, story telling and in finding broader platforms from which ambassadors can talk with authenticity and passion, about the food issues that are important to them. It is also important that this post holder is able to foster excellent working relationships with our Ambassadors, providing ongoing support, encouragement and guidance, whilst also supporting Ambassadors to connect to, and support each other.
