Young, entrepreneurial and highly ambitious financial services client is looking to hire a commercially astute individual with strong financial modelling skills. You will ideally be a qualified accountant who’s had exposure to mergers and acquisitions.
The client has received significant financial funding and have invested heavily in innovative cutting-edge technology. They are keen to grow via acquiring 6-10 competitors per year (typically deal values £3m-£15m with up to £100 million in assets under management).
The role:
Reporting to the Head of Mergers and Acquisitions, you will play a key role in building a robust corporate finance function.
Key duties include:
- Producing key financial modelling and analysis for external review (assessment and valuation of new opportunities).
- Involvement in liaising and negotiating with key stakeholders (eg transactional purchase prices and other aspects of the engagement).
- Lead the financial due diligence process for submission and presentation to the investment committee:
- Analyse financial statements and produce financial models.
- Drafting heads of terms and offer letters to be sent to the target’s board.
- Work closely with the board and colleagues to discuss future strategy:
- Budgets and performance targets with the CFO.
- Progress reports on active deals and pipeline to the CEO.
- On-going market research and competitor analysis.
- Providing operational and financial support to companies in the group.
This is a demanding and 'hands-on’ role. The successful candidate will be hardworking, results focused with first class analytical and financial modelling skills. You will be highly credible with strong communication and presentation skills, together with a proven ability to scrutinise company financials to determine accurate company valuations.
