East Suffolk & North Essex NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to recruit a Analytics Lead - Senior Data Scientist, who will work with the Head of Analytics to develop a data science capability, enabling the greater application of statistical analysis & machine learning modelling to add insights on operational & clinical challenges.
Working at the leading edge of analytics, the role requires you to apply the best possible combination of applied mathematics, statistics, advanced computing, visualisation and data engineering to health care.
The Analytics Lead is responsible for managing a small portfolio of projects in the Analytics Team, offering expert statistical advice and focusing on the delivery of priority projects relating to the most significant operational challenges facing the Trust. You will be responsible for overseeing the work of at least two analysts.

In line with our current home working policy, working time will be split between Trust sites, with a proportion of time-spent working from home.
  • To work with the Head of Analytics to scope and manage the delivery of analytical projects, focussing on Trust-level priority projects and the most significant operational challenges, including the management of waiting lists and referral to treatment.
  • To work with the Head of Analytics to expand the Analytics Team’s capabilities in the use of advanced analytical techniques, including machine-learning methodologies, for the purposes of forecasting, hypothesis testing, and key drivers analysis.
  • To manage analysts to deliver tailored analysis and interactive reporting solutions to operational and clinical colleagues, ensuring that all reports deliver their outputs in the most accessible and efficient way by utilising the latest technologies and software available, including R and Python.
  • Complete statistical analysis of activity data to ensure robust forecasting is available to stakeholders. Develop and maintain activity planning and forecasting software.
  • To be responsible for the quality assurance of analysis produced by the analytics team.
