An exciting opportunity to join a well-established dog boarding kennels and a day care centre learning all the skills for a career in the industry. The candidate will also be required to assist with the care of the racehorses from October to May.
Duties include, but not limited to;
- Help provide a stimulating and safe environment for all dogs
- Supervise dogs & be vigilant of their well being
- Supplying fresh water and food as required
- Removing dog waste immediately
- Monitoring of dogs behaviour and welfare
- Working as a team
- General cleaning duties and simple maintenance of the centre such as sweeping, hoovering, washing up, painting etc.
- Doing any other reasonable duties required as the business grows
- Ensuring dogs are entertained and safe at all times
The Duties caring for the racehorses will include but not limited to;
- Mucking out
- Feeding and watering
- Turning out and catching in
- General field maintenance
- Riding for the right candidate
- Attending races for the right candidate

Desired Qualifications
- GCSE maths and English Grade C/4 or equivalent desirable but not essential.
- Applicants must not already a level 2 or higher in Animal Care.
Future Progression
- Progression to level 3 Animal Care or full employment should a position arise
Training
- The apprentice will be working to build a portfolio of evidence and will be required to pass a knowledge test and an End Point Assessment (EPA) to complete the apprenticeship.
- All training will take place at the work location and the applicant will complete an Animal Care Apprenticeship in full.
