This is a rare opportunity for an experienced Animal Keeper to join our Animals Team. This role will suit someone who is not looking for fixed or regular hours, but is flexible to meet the requirements of this casual role, to support the team with days off and holiday cover. You will need to be able to work on a Sunday as part of this role.
About the role
You will be working with our team of keepers caring for our collection of domestic, farm, exotic (reptiles and inverts), birds of prey and zoo animals. This is a physical hands-on role which will involve feeding, cleaning, monitoring health, enclosure maintenance and record keeping whilst always ensuring high animal welfare standards. You will also play a key part in delivering our programme of interactive animal experiences, talks and shows.
About you
Experience working with a wide variety of animals
Confident delivering talks and shows to audiences of all ages
Ability to work as part of a team as well as alone
Be able to work to a flexible rota including early starts (7am), weekend working and school holidays
Excellent customer service skills, ensuring all our guests have a memorable experience
Full driving licence ideal but not essential
Able to cover on weekends/bank holidays and in school holiday periods as well as all year round, where possible there will be some shifts we are able to give in advance but the majority will rely on your flexibility
