Salary:£27,494 - 39,131 (a market supplement may apply subject to qualifications, skills, and experience)

Hours:Part time : 3 days a week - 08:30-17:00 Monday – Friday

A remarkable and unique opportunity has arisen at John Ruskin College as we seek to appoint a Full-time Lecturer with expertise in Animal Management to teach on level 1-3 in Animal Welfare & Management. In addition to teaching on the program starting in September, you will have an exclusive chance to establish the suite, develop your own instructional materials and tools from April to July (if applicable), preparing for the arrival of students in September. In essence, you have until the end of the academic year to contribute to the development of the exciting new Animal Management course.

Working closely with the Head of Department and the rest of the team, you will have the chance to share your knowledge and skills with students to help them achieve at the highest level as well as driving continuous improvement within the College. You will act as a personal tutor giving pastoral care, promote attendance, support students to attain suitable work placements, participate in team meetings and contribute to the planning, development and review activities within your subject area.

The successful candidate must have:

• A Teaching qualification at level 3 or above
• A relevant degree or equivalent qualification in animal science, zoology, veterinary science, or a related field is desirable
• Experience working in the ANIMAL MANAGEMENT industry or a similar educational setting.
• Previous, relevant FE teaching experience
• Maths & English GCSE / Level 2 equivalent
