Form of workGenset Application & Installation EngineerLocation: Peterborough, UK12 month contract likely to extendSalary: £29.81 per hour PAYE / £34.14 per hour Rolled up / £40.05 per hour Umbrella (inside IR35)The Role:Primarily involves supporting EPD's Retail & Rental product development teams across various locations worldwide, manufacturing generator sets under the Electric Power and FG Wilson brands. Additionally, the role may extend to support Marine Power and Progress Rail projects. As a pivotal contact for all technical aspects of new and ongoing power solution product introductions, you'll collaborate closely with EPD and IPSD product/engineering teams. Your role will involve managing and delivering internal combustion engine power system integration projects within EPD's Application & Installation process, aligning IPSD and EPD projects, and overseeing technical installation issues through the NPI development process. This role demands an ability to collaborate effectively across diverse cultures, time zones, and roles globally.Key Responsibilities:Lead power system selection and project completion in collaboration with genset technical lead engineers.Cultivate robust relationships within the Industrial Power Systems Division and customer teams to ensure effective partnerships.Act as the primary point of contact for all customer technical queries throughout NPI stages.Address initial customer critical issues, ensuring clear and prompt communications on support requirements.Support EPD Voice of the Customer technical requirements, contributing to new power system product development.Assist in customer collaboration events such as product development workshops.Manage Application & Installation (A&I) requirements with the customer, leading to A&I sign-off before machine production commences.Offer power system specification support through the product lifecycle, managing changes through new engine configuration option requests.Mediate between CAT Industrial Power Systems Division and customers for successful resolution of technical integration issues.Support Continuous Product Improvements through enhanced knowledge on machine installations.Stay informed about New Product Development issues and communicate their impact to customers.Facilitate knowledge sharing across the wider EPS team.
