Job description

We are SSCL, the largest provider of business-critical support services to our Government, Police and Defence customers. Delivering digital solutions and developing innovations that make things easier for our customers.
SSCL is on the lookout for Application Developers to join a brand-new team within our IT Change delivery function. As our new Application (Extensions) Developer, you will develop, support, and maintain Oracle E-Business technical projects according to appropriate specifications. Responsible for converting functional specifications into technical specifications as part of the project builds.
This is hybrid working role where you could be based anywhere in the UK, with occasional travel to one of our UK sites.
What you will be doing:

  • Development and support the Oracle customisations and extensions to the JPA system.
  • Investigate problems and carry out analysis and design of customer requirements.
    Code, unit test and document changes
  • Support the Testing Team by investigating and resolving defects.
  • Manage the deployment of fixes and changes into the test and Live environments.
  • Carry out quality checks through the established peer review process.
  • Train and mentor more junior members of the team.

What you will bring:
  • Sound SQL and PL/SQL programming skills
  • Preferred Experience with Oracle Forms and Reports
  • Oracle development lifecycle experience including testing.
  • Experience in converting functional specifications into technical specifications as part of project builds.

Would be great if you had:
  • Extensive experience in Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12 using OA Framework (OAF) and Oracle Application Development Framework (ADF)
  • Knowledge of HR, Payroll, Finance and CRM
  • Experience of AIX and Oracle Linux
  • Experience of IBM Optim
  • Oracle workflow, Oracle E-Biz developer
  • XML data source & template design
  • Unix skills
  • Java
  • Squiz / Web methods

Employment type: Full-time, permanent
Location: Hybrid working role where you could be based anywhere in the UK, with occasional travel to one of our SSCL UK sites.
Security Clearance Level: You must be willing & eligible to undergo the SC Vetting process
