Application Engineer

Technical Application Engineer / Near Warwick / £60,000 DoE

Are you an experienced Technical Application Engineer? You could be progressing your career at a leading engineering consultancy, playing a pivotal role in promoting design and manufacturing technologies across multiple sectors including Motorsport, High Performance Vehicles, Off Highway, Marine, and Green Propulsion.

Location / Hours:
You'll be based close to Warwick 5 days per week; you'll need to be able to drive there or be on close public transport links. Free parking available.
Based within the Engineering Team, this role will involve:

• Supporting the Business Development team with technical input for customer visits and enquiries.
• Representing the company at industry trade shows, seminars, and associations to promote our offerings.
• Developing design concepts and driveline schemes based on customer requests.
• Constructing indicative bills-of-materials and calculating manufacturing costs for components.
• Ensuring effective communication of costs and assumptions, holding both parties accountable for variations.
• Collaborating closely with Manufacturing to ensure alignment between quoted methods and costs.
• Providing estimates of non-recurring expenses relating to program activities.

Requirements:

• Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline (e.g. Mechanical Engineering) with relevant work experience
• Technical knowledge of automotive transmission systems, including differentials.
• Proven capability of detail design and component solid modelling with CREO or other main platform CAD system in a similar environment.
• Experience of modern manufacturing methods (Heat Treatment, CNC Machining, Assembly etc)
• Strong business and commercial skills, including familiarity with contracts, NDA's, IP, proposals, pricing, and margins.
• A flexible approach, being able to work successfully in a small team to aggressive timescales.
