Job description

About Us:

At Supporting Education Group, we unite 13 leading education service brands with a shared mission: to enhance and enrich young people's education. Committed to education as a transformative force, we believe in building happier societies by improving outcomes for young minds. The comprehensive educational services that we provide support schools, educators, parents, and learners, underpinned by a dedication to excellence.

Our Group Technology function ensure that our roster of brands have the technology capabilities to succeed; whether that is enabling employees to streamline processes, enhance productivity, access pertinent data, remain secure, or to better the way that they work.

What's The Role About?
We are seeking a dedicated Application Support Analyst to join the Business Applications team, who will take ownership of the system incidents, service requests, and problem tickets which have been escalated from our third-party IT Service Desk, ensuring prompt resolution and maintaining a high level of service delivery.
You will support stakeholders across the business with applications best practices and will be tenaciously focused on continuous improvement - spotting trends in issues or incidents and supporting the service desk with their ability to provide first point resolution of previously escalated tickets.
You'll also assist with testing system upgrades, releases, and enhancements for production acceptance, identifying opportunities for improvement and actively contributing to their implementation.
So, if you are passionate about providing exceptional support with software applications, and problem-solving solutions, this could be the role for you!

What Can You Bring To The Role?

  • Significant experience as Application Support Analyst or a similar Technical Support role.

  • Prior experience of supporting business critical systems and customer facing web applications.

  • Ideally, experience working with CRM systems, online portals, and using cloud-based applications.

  • Adept at documenting processes for technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Experience in any of the following would be desirable:

    • Active Directory and Azure AD (Entra).

    • Application monitoring and status reporting systems.

    • Moderating communities.

    • Power BI, SQL Server, or T-SQL.

    • Basic code debugging in programming languages (C#, .NET, Angular, SQL, etc.).

    • Creating training videos and other supporting materials.

Who Will You Be?

  • Passionate about providing excellent customer service.

  • A confident communicator, able to effectively talk about a problem at a technical or non-technical level to stakeholders at varying levels of seniority.

  • Pro-active, with the ability to take initiative to spot opportunities to drive improvements and efficiencies.

  • An excellent problem-solver, with an analytical mind.

Our Benefits:

  • Whilst we work in a hybrid way, with collaboration being one of our values, we'd expect you to regularly be in our well-situated Welwyn Garden City office, with occasional visits to our London Bloomsbury office to connect with our teams in person.

  • 28 days holiday and get an extra day for each year you stay with us, up to max 33 days PLUS bank holidays.

  • We pay for a Healthcare Plan once you've passed probation, which includes access to a private GP.

  • From day 1, free life insurance covering up to x4 your salary.

  • We'll both add money into your pension pot after 3 months.

  • Get 25% off online learning resources for year 1 to GCSE with EdPlace.

  • Choose what flexible benefits you want after you've passed probation - this could be buying extra holiday, dental, topping up your healthcare plan, bikes, gym membership, electric cars and give as you earn.

  • Learning and development opportunities.

By joining Supporting Education Group, you will become part of a community that is dedicated to transforming lives and sustaining communities, where your voice is heard, your ideas are valued, and your individuality is celebrated. Together, we will continue to advance our passion for education and build brighter futures for all.
