Applications Engineer

White Label is exclusively representing an engineering business in the South Bradford area that requires an Applications Engineer to join their team.

As an Applications engineer, you will be working with a team of highly skilled individuals to provide comprehensive and innovative sealing solutions to a global customer base.

The role involves providing technical support to both external customers and internal functional departments. You will be working with existing and potential customers to expand your technical footprint by providing a portfolio of solutions through technical knowledge and expertise

• Salary dependent on experience.
• 25 days holiday + bank holidays
• 37.75-hour/week

Duties of the Applications Engineer

• Problem-solving and providing technical support to customers in a fast-paced critical environment.
• Providing sealing solutions in a timely and effective manner to minimize downtime.
• Design new and innovative sealing solutions usually backed up by calculations to industry standards.
• Visit customer sites, both in the UK and further afield to obtain information, provide advice and help solve sealing and joint integrity problems.
• Provide technical training for both internal and external staff.
• Function as a technical hub to provide support to internal departments such as Sales, Operations, Quality & Purchasing
• Support the R&D team in the development of new products.
• Coordinate with global engineering teams in delivering effective sealing/joint integrity solutions.
• Attending technical conferences as appropriate and, on occasion, delivering technical papers to expand the technical footprint of the business.
• Attending joint sales visits with Business Development Managers to provide a technical focus to external sales.
• Other duties within your scope are deemed necessary by the business for you to effectively complete the job.

Experience required of the Applications Engineer

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in a technical engineering/design/engineering support type role.
• Experience working in sectors such as Oil & Gas, Valves, Pumps, Seals, Gaskets, Pressure Vessels or Process Flow would be advantageous.
• Must be competent in using AutoCAD 2D. Competence in 3D modeling would be an advantage.
• Must be familiar with stress calculations and ability to interpret and analyze data.
• Must have proven experience in performing engineering design and calculations.
• Must have good presentation skills and previous customer-facing technical role.
• Must be able to deal with customers professionally and helpfully.
• Full UK driving license.
