Job Title: Applications Support Professional
Locations: Cheltenham, Ipswich, London
Due to the sensitive nature of this role, you may be required to undergo DV (Developed Vetting) level Security Clearance (https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/united-kingdom-security-vetting-clearance-levels/national-security-vetting-clearance-levels). An allowance of £5k per annum may be payable monthly while you hold this DV and continue to work in a role that requires that level of security clearance. The terms of this allowance will be made available if you are successful in being recruited into this role.

Service Operations exemplifies technical excellence in delivery and support, and as a graduate you are part of the Service Operations team and personally responsible for quality, process improvement, delivery and supporting your team.
You are responsible for contributing to the design and deployment of new bespoke systems as well as supporting and maintaining existing ones. You should also contribute to innovation and development of new products, and process improvement initiatives. This role will require working as part of a team, supporting colleagues and collaboration with customers.
What you'll do:
  • Works under general direction within a clear framework of accountability - has responsibility for delivering and implementing aspects of security solutions for BT Security customers.
  • Plans own work in line with general direction to meet given objectives and processes.
  • Responsible for resolving incidents and service requests in line with SLAs to enable continued system operation.
  • To form part of an out of hours on call rota when required.
  • Identifies and communicates opportunities that assist with setting technical direction, with respect to best practice for domains of operation.
You will have some of the following technical skills:
  • VMware usage
  • Linux configuration & management
  • Windows configuration & management
  • AWS (e.g. Lambda, S3, SQS)
  • Anti-malware scanner configuration & management
  • Software repository management
  • Apache Nifi
  • Terraform
  • Git
  • HTML, CSS, Javascript
  • Python
  • Powershell, Bash
  • Agile software development
What you'll bring:
  • Service management experience within the IT industry.
  • Ability to take responsibility, ownership and autonomy of delegated platform operations and deliverables.
  • Understanding and experience of managing applications and tools.
  • Understanding of DevOps and agile team methodologies.
  • Degree Educated or equivalent Industry experience.
You may also have:
  • Configuration and management of Anti-malware scanners.
  • Experience with data streaming / data flow
  • Configuration and management of cloud computing environments.
