Job Description:
Are you looking to kickstart your career in logistics and warehousing? MJ Quinn is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as an Apprentice Stores Operative. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience, develop valuable skills, and work towards a nationally recognised qualification.
Responsibilities:
- Receiving and Storing Goods: Assist in the receipt and storage of incoming goods, ensuring accurate and efficient handling and placement within the warehouse.
- Order Picking and Packing: Support the order picking and packing processes, ensuring accuracy and timely preparation of customer orders.
- Inventory Management: Help maintain accurate inventory records by conducting regular stock checks and reporting discrepancies.
- Loading and Unloading: Assist with the loading and unloading of delivery vehicles, using appropriate handling equipment and techniques.
- Health and Safety: Follow all health and safety guidelines to maintain a safe working environment. Report any hazards or incidents promptly.
- Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and organised warehouse by performing regular housekeeping duties, including the proper disposal of packaging materials.
- Learning and Development: Actively participate in training sessions and workshops to develop your skills and knowledge in warehouse operations.
Requirements:
- Education: GCSE Grade A*-C (4-9) or equivalent in Maths and English
- Physical Fitness: Ability to perform manual handling tasks, including lifting, carrying, and moving items.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in all tasks.
- Team Player: Ability to work effectively as part of a team, with good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliability: Punctual and dependable, with a strong work ethic.
- Technology: Basic understanding of technology and willingness to learn to use warehouse management systems and equipment.
- Driving Licence: Thought not essential, would be beneficial to the role.
