Description
Drax 360 are looking for Apprentice engineers to support their site engineering teams on large building complexes.
You would be working as part of an experienced team whilst studying towards your Fire Emergency Security Systems Technician Level 3.
Drax are looking for people who can travel between Reading and Didcot, and will pay travel expenses.

Overall responsibilities:
- Carry out weekly testing, maintenance, repair and commissioning of Fire Alarm systems
- Carry out weekly Fire Alarm testing to customer's building schedule
- Carry out planned maintenance visits when requested by the Coordinator.
- React to customer call outs during normal office hours when requested by the Coordinator.
- Participate, when qualified, in the Company’s 24 hour 365 day call out rota.
- Complete all necessary documentation, on time and accurately.
- Provide monthly timesheets including authorised overtime claims.
- Provide monthly expense claims.
- Activate our service management system at the correct times
- Accurately complete service reports for each and every job ensuring additional materials and labour for invoicing is recorded.
- Liaise with our Customers in a courteous and polite manner, representing the Company in the best possible light.
- In conjunction with the Coordinator, arrange for alternative cover during any and all absences.
- Ensure that individual KPI’s are met.
- Be a regular contributor to the team both in service meetings and on a day to day basis.
- Participate in both Company and external training events including assessment when appropriate.
- Regularly suggest ways to improve the business including the identification of opportunities, process improvements etc.
- Carry out any reasonable request by Management.
- Strive to achieve and maintain a 95% plus performance in relation to all aspects of the position
- Efficient completion of daily tasks including informing office of potential delays

Entry requirements
You will have basic electrical or building industry experience and be used to working in operational buildings.
We are looking for people who can easily travel between Reading and Didcot.
We're more interested in attitude than ability and will train the right candidates.
The ideal candidate would be 21+ due to the company vehicle insurance policy.
Training to be provided
Fire Emergency Security Systems Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard.
Skills for Security will deliver the apprenticeship training in block release at one of their centres. You will attend centre one week every eight weeks.
You will be required to complete all training tasks allocated during your block release weeks at the training centre and gather any site evidence needed to supplement your studies.
You will be required to complete an annual assessment at the training centre and take part in any additional training courses that the company require you to complete.
Drax UK will mentor and coach you on the job. You will also shadow, learn and get involved in all aspects of Fire Alarms.
Things to consider
You will be required to travel to sites for your job role and attend the training centre every eight weeks.
The apprenticeship is 36 months and therefore, full commitment is needed.
Drax360 will pay for travel expenses for any work-related travel.
