Apprentice Specialist Support Assistant
18 month fixed term contract to start in autumn 2024
Full Time 32.5 hours, term time only
£10.42 per hour apprenticeship rate (£12.46 after 6 months)
Teaching Assistant Level 3 Apprenticeship
As an Apprentice SSA you will work with the classroom teacher to support students’ independent
learning and progress in accordance with the national curriculum and with behaviour management
strategies. You will help prepare resources and the classroom for planned activities. You will work
as part of a team to support the teacher.
You will be supported in the workplace and receive training and materials to enable you to
work confidently with students. You will also receive guidance on how we support students
with different special needs. Regular meetings with your apprenticeship tutor will help you
successfully complete the apprenticeship.
At the end of your contract, if you have performed well on your apprenticeship, you should be in a
good position to be considered for a permanent role.
